Thank you for visiting our website!

Welcome from the staff and congregation of the Acton Community Presbyterian Church!  We are delighted that you have visited and hope that you will find information, interesting features, encouragement, and resources during your visit.  For 121 years--since 1888-- Acton Church has been the "hometown" church for Acton, California, and we would love being your church as well.  We would be honored if you chose to visit and worship with us. The Sundays after Easter are here, the celebration of Christ's rising from the dead continues, and the world again rejoices in the renewal of life in the beauty of Spring.   Now is a great time to establish a connection with the hometown church and to make time for your spiritual well-being.  It's one of the "coolest" places in town!!  We are genuinely committed to being a "Community Church" and not just a "church in a community."

If you have never visited and are considering doing so, or if you are considering relocating to our area, we would love to have you be our guest for worship and participation in any of our activities.

When you visit Acton Church, you will find:

  • A welcoming faith community of friends and neighbors
  • Biblical preaching & teaching
  • Ministries to meet spiritual needs
  • Meaningful worship, music, sharing,
  •  Gathering around the Lord's Table
  • Fellowship opportunities throughout the week
  • Community Service projects and opportunities

  • 1888-2013 -- Celebrating Heritage and Hope

"Because He lives, I can face tomorrow.
Because He lives, all fear is gone.
Because I know who holds the future,
And life is worth the living, just because He lives.

Prayer for the Seventh Week of Eastertide and The Ascension of Our Lord

Holy and gracious God, the King of glory, you have exalted your only Son Jesus christ with great triumph to you kingdom in heaven:  Do not leave us without comfort, but send your Holy Spirit to strengthen us, and to raise us up to that place our Savior Christ has gone before.   We pray in the name of the Risen Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, in glory everlasting.  Amen.

Acton Church Welcomes New Pastoral Leadership

With a spirit of enthusiasm and excitement, the Acton Church Members and Friends welcome the leadership of the
Rev. Dr. Robert T. Cassell for the first months of 2013.  Dr. Cassell is well known to the congregation having served as pulpit supply on a number of occasions before the retirement of Rev. Judith.  He and his wife Judith are a welcome presence and have brought kindness, a listening ear, a sense of deep love for the congregation, and a continuous desire to provide the leadership that will aide the congregation through this transition toward the call of a permanent pastor in the future.  Many may not be aware that Dr. Cassell has won a number of awards for his expertise as an interim pastor, has provided expert training to other pastors entering the field of interim pastoring, and has brought many years of first-hand experience to his present task.
